Is there a secret to flat abs?
The scale is a good "guide" but it doesn't tell you the 100% truth. If you take one thing from me EVER, I want you to take this... "Don't rely so much on the numbers from the scale." I personally think the scale is on the evil side b/c as long as I feel good & like how my clothes fit, why should that number matter? Just sayin'.
Depending on your body type, you have an area that is stubborn, we all do… meaning this is the area where the fat is not wanting to say goodbye. These areas are usually the stomach, hips, thighs, or triceps - but we more commonly hear people complain about the stomach area. Be consistent & this will go away. It takes PATIENCE!!! We live in a world of instant gratification when really, that's simply not feasible. We didn't gain that weight in 1 - 2 weeks so please don't get frustrated or want to quit in 1 - 2 weeks when that weight isn't gone.
So many of us want to "spot train" and frankly, that is impossible. Sorry if that upsets you but it's simply the truth. Of course, there are spot specific workouts such as Tony's Great Abs Guaranteed or Chalene Johnson's Ab Burner & while these are wonderful workouts to strengthen the core (and 2 of my faves), you still have the same issue of body fat & not being able to "spot lose" where you want. Like with any workout, when doing these, you will burn fat & you will lose fat BUT you have to remember, you'll lose it the way your body type naturally loses weight. If your stomach is your trouble area, it may be the last area that looses… BUT IT WILL GO AWAY! This is why a program such as TurboFire, Insanity, P90X, T25, etc. are rockin' programs for reaching goals because they focus on the entire body with a good balance of cardio & resistance.
