Proteins help us to build lean muscle which, in turn, increases our metabolism - woop woop! Who could possibly wish for a slower metabolism? The less fat we have (direct result of more lean muscle), the more calories we require... the less lean muscle we have, the slower our metabolism is going to run. If you don't eat enough calories, your body will lose lean muscle b/c, in survival, your body will canabolize your lean muscle to try to make up for the protein it needs. You do not want this to happen - wouldn't you rather your body burn fat? I would!
Besides this, proteins & amino acids are amazing b/c this is what is going to help reduce our cravings and support our brain function, clarity, and mood!
The more dense the protein, the better to build muscle.
